  1. Enhancement

    Permit pages now show the sales tax rate you will charge, not just where to register for a sales tax permit.

    State pages show the state base rate and typical range, and the 97 highest-intent county pages show the combined rate in the principal city, each with an official rate-lookup link and a note that local districts can add tax on top.

    Permit pages were rebranded to the wider site design and are now server-rendered for search, with the ZIP search fixed for directory-only counties like Honolulu.

    The state, county, and guide pages moved to the two-column layout, and the full 51-state directory is now crawlable while the ZIP lookup stays interactive.

    Coffee shop search now maps a ZIP to its whole area and, when nothing matches, shows the nearest shops, so a valid ZIP never comes back empty.

    Typing a full ZIP resolves it to its county and surfaces every shop there; when no shop matches, the closest shops by ZIP are shown instead.

    Browse the coffee shop directory by espresso machine, so you can see which shops run La Marzocco, Synesso, Slayer, and more.

    The hub has a new browse-by-machine filter backed by a shared machine catalog. Each shop can be tagged with its brand or model, and a brand lights up as soon as a bar is tagged with it.
